Job Description:As a Hotel Manager, you will be responsible for leading the property operations at Courtyard Marriott Mumbai. You will act as the strategic business leader in the absence of the General Manager and will be responsible for overseeing a range of areas including Front Office, Retail/Gift Shops, Recreation/Fitness Center, Housekeeping, Security/Loss Prevention, Engineering/Maintenance, Food and Beverage/Culinary, and Event Management. You will work closely with your Executive Committee members and department heads to develop and implement the operations strategy, ensuring the implementation of the brand service strategy and brand initiatives. Your role will involve ensuring operations meet the brand's target customer needs while focusing on growing revenues and maximizing financial performance.
Candidate Profile:To be successful in this role, you will hold a 2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or a related major, with at least 8 years of experience in the management operations, sales and marketing, or a related professional area. Alternatively, you may hold a 4-year bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or a related major, with at least 6 years of experience in the management operations, sales and marketing, or a related professional area.
Core Work Activities:You will be responsible for managing profitability and departmental budgets, keeping the operations team focused on the critical components of operations to drive guest satisfaction and the desired financial results. You will review financial reports and statements to determine how Operations is performing against budget, and ensure capital expenditure funds are being used to address the priorities outlined in the service strategy. You will work with your direct reports to determine areas of concern and establish ways to improve the departments' financial performance. You will develop an operational strategy that is aligned with the brand's business strategy and leads its execution.
As a Hotel Manager, you will also be responsible for managing property operations, striving to improve service performance, and ensuring brand and regional business initiatives are implemented. You will tour the building on a regular basis, speaking with employees and guests to understand business needs and assess operational opportunities. Additionally, you will lead the property operations team, establishing a vision for product and service delivery on the property, and ensuring employees are treated fairly and equitably. You will manage and conduct human resources activities, including observing service behaviors of employees, hiring operations management team members, conducting annual performance appraisals with direct reports, utilizing an open-door policy, and reviewing employee satisfaction results to identify and address employee problems or concerns.
